Large Breast Augmentation Procedures

Large breast augmentations take approximately two hours. In specific cases, certain patients may need to have multiple surgeries so that the breast tissue is given the opportunity to expand and so the breast can support the increased size of the large breast implant. During your consultation at our San Diego office and after a thorough examination, Dr. Pousti will discuss every detail of your large breast augmentation, including the exact size and type of big breast implants he will use and their relative advantages. Large breast augmentations are performed on an outpatient basis at our surgical center in San Diego under general anesthesia.

What to Expect After a Large Breast Augmentation

Large breast augmentations require some extra care with regards to recovery. Bed rest, along with plenty of fluids, is necessary after surgery. Your chest will be sore. When big breast implants are placed under the muscle, there is additional soreness. Dr. Pousti will prescribe appropriate pain management medications. Take your medication regularly and keep your office visits. Usually after a week, you will begin to feel back to normal.

A brassiere and bandeau will be fitted for you during your first week of recovery. These will need to be worn for a month. You will not be able to shower until your sutures are removed. Initially, large breast implants will appear to be slightly higher than normal and your breasts will be swollen. Over time, the big breast implants will descend to a more natural position.

Ok so what did I end up with...A GREAT PAIR OF NEW BOOBS!! I LOVE, LOVE THEM!! Dr. Pousti gave me everyhthing I wanted and then some. I decided to stay with saline because that was the best decision for me! When I came out of surgery he told my husband that I was going to be very happy! He was able to put in an 800cc bag and overfilled them to 1000cc.s!! I knew there was a lot of room up there for some nice, big, gorgeous boobs!! The size I have is definately a personal choice! I have no regrets of any!! My life style hasn't changed at all! I am able to fully weight train and do cardio just like I did before!!
